Easter

We had such a special time at the lake over Easter. It was just the break we needed! The kids missed the egg hunt in Cando because I had the time wrong, so I had to make it up to them by having an Easter egg hunt at the lake. They got some pretty sweet prizes!

Perfect Snowman Snow

One day when Esau was here we had the deepest, most perfect snow for building a snowman that I've ever seen! Watch the slideshow below to see the results. A few explanatory notes: Katie and Esau had a practice "cake feeding" session, Katie demonstrated the concept of "face wash" to Esau, and the 2 snowmen at the end are the ones that have been married for 25 years. They are a little lumpier and less fashionable!

A friend from across the street drifted over to our yard. His name is Wyatt, only Jonathan calls him "White!"

There was an old lady who swallowed a fly

I had the fun of being the volunteer pre-school assistant today, and I have a new appreciation for the pre-school teacher and her regular assistant! Today's activity was planned around the story "There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly."

Saying the pledge

"Can anyone think of something we should NOT eat?" Jonathan's answer was bees!

Trip to Duluth with Esau

We've been having the most wonderful time since Esau got here on June 30th! We were able to take an unforgettable trip to Duluth for a few days. Esau said it was the most beautiful place he had ever seen, and I tend to agree with him! The pictures below show some of the things we enjoyed: the Glensheen Mansion (fabulous!), watching boats come into the harbor, and a drive along the North Shore. Some of our must see stops included Betty's Pies (this is a must-eat stop!) and Split Rock Lighthouse.
