Volleyball Season

As volleyball season is drawing to a close, I'm finally getting a blog post done. The girls have had a great year, with lots of wins. It's been a lot of fun to watch them; in fact, I only took pictures during this one match, because I prefer to watch the game!

First Studio Shoot!

Darcie and I had great fun setting up our temporary studio today, downstairs at the Audi. We were unpacking everything for the first time, all our new equipment, so we could give it a trial run. Darcie got out her camera phone to document the momentous occasion, when I realized I had my camera sitting right there in the bag! I guess I haven't really explained that Darcie and I are going to be business partners. We are planning to open a studio and also to shoot weddings together. We're off to a great start, and we'll reveal more details later!

Homecoming

Last week was the excitement of Homecoming - volleyball games, pep rallies, & dress up days - culminating in the parade and football game on Friday. The whole town turns out to watch the parade, even though it only lasts about 5 minutes! Don't you love small towns?

Waiting for the parade: Jonathan, Owen & Jackson

Homecoming royalty: Adam, Zach and Lucas; Jill, Amy and Kenzie

Even Larry got a parade entry ready at the last minute. Unfortunately I forgot to snap a picture of Ollie, who was running alongside the motorcycle with "Go B-Cats" spray painted on his sides. He was happily gobbling up candy the whole time.

The senior class float won first prize.

Getting all decked out for the big football game. Katie helped the boys spray their hair and paint their faces.

Victor had an "N" painted on one side of his head and a star on the other. (For North Star School)

Logan drifted over from next door to get in on the fun.

The finished product!

Jonathan eating a Dum Dum sucker from the parade. He insisted they were gumdrops, because he has this book about Morris the Moose who likes gumdrops. It's his favorite book and we have to read it every night.
